Book Giveaway …
October 28th, 2008 § 7 Comments
I am giving away 2 new copies of the PINK PRAYER BOOK. Released in August this year, it’s a perfect fit with the month of October.
Why?

October acknowledges breast cancer and honors and champions the search for its cure.
But, a prayer book? you ask.
Yes. It has non-demoninational, original prayers written by breast cancer surivors, by those who are related to women who have experienced it, as well as Proverbs and quotations from poets, saints and writers.
There’s more.
Cokie Roberts (of NPR fame), also a survivor, has written the intro.
Author Patricia Corrigan has penned the straight-up poignant modern essays that are in each of the book’s four sections.
It’s not your everyday prayer book.
It’s also petit enough (but not tiny) to fit in your purse.
A gift in many ways, it’s a special publication from Liguouri.
To be eligible to win, post a comment here telling five things you love about October.
And/or … Copy this blog entry and url on your blog site, leave a comment here that tells me that you did, and get two automatic entries (without having to write 5 fave things) in the contest.
The contest ends at midnight, Sat., Nov 1.
Winners will be posted here on Sunday, Nov 2 (and contacted via url), and books will be shipped anywhere in USA.
[...] you have to do to be entered is write five things you like about October as a comment on this post. Tags: Breast Cancer Awareness, free books, Pink [...]
Ask and you shall receive! Post has been posted.
Five things I love about October are: the cool crisp air, the frost on the pumpkins, the kalidoscope of autumn leaves, warm spicy apple cider, and the anticipation of the upcoming holiday season.
Halloween, my birthday (the 10th), the pumkin patches that are all around town, the changing of the leaves, and it’s a whole month dedicated to finding a cure for breast cancer.
Thnks for a fun fun giveaway!!!
I’ve already got my copy (of your wonderful book), so I don’t want to be included in the giveaway, but couldn’t miss the opportunity to share the five things I love about October:
Apple Cider
Pumpkins
Leaves the color of frosted grapes
Flannel sheets
The scent of woodfires on the chilly morning air
FIve things Jeanie loves about October is Halloween, flannet sheets (even though Anno said that, too!), cracking leaves when I walk, gorgeous colors everywhere and the way the late afternoon sun hits those trees to make those colors even more splendid than before.
Halloween candy isn’t bad either!
Ruby, You WIN! write me with your address so I can send the book. My email is posted on my “About” page on my blog.
Jeanie and Bobbi – I have written to you as well – yay, winners all!
