going long…

“You need that pride in yourself, as well as a sense, when you are sitting on Page 297 of a book, that the book is going to be read, that somebody is going to care. You can’t ever be sure about that, but you need the sense that it’s important, that it’s not typing; it’s writing.”
- Roger Kahn
I haven’t read Roger Kahn. Except this quote.
Funny when your eye falls on just what you need, when you need it…a quote like this, especially… “that it’s not typing; it’s writing.”
And the sun comes out.

Yes, I think the sun might be coming out.
Great quote, thanks for sharing!
this reminded me of today’s quote on http://www.advicetowriters.com:
It is the deepest desire of every writer, the one we never admit or even dare to speak of: to write a book we can leave as a legacy. And although it is sometimes easy to forget, wanting to be a writer is not about reviews or advances or how many copies are printed or sold. It is much simpler than that, and much more passionate. If you do it right, and if they publish it, you may actually leave something behind that can last forever.
ALICE HOFFMAN
Yes, as creatives we must have faith in ourselves, but with modesty and unselfishness. Then eventually the sun will come out, although in many forms. Like an autumn sun or a winter sun or a sun behind beautiful clouds or a setting sun.
and when the sun comes out, we go out to play? I do — grab it while you can!
Great quote … FABULOUS picture! We are finally seeing some sunshine up here (figuratively and literally); ’bout time.
