Earthquake

April 18, 2008 § 1 Comment

The dogs are still nervous though they’ve breakfasted and run around outdoors. Strange how we go about our business, combing our hair, putting on watches, heading to work after making sure the little beasts have water and some toys nearby. And making sure the house seems safe following its 4:30 a.m. shaking.

This morning’s earthquake has deflected the seriousness from the meeting I have at 10 and the deadline I have at 5. One tends to have more universal things in mind than business after such a rock-n-roll wake-up.

If there’s any reading to be done at all today, it will be poetry.  (Funny how poetry month insists itself on us one way or the other.)

Avoiding bridges today,

Oh
