Time to attack…

office space

I’ve taken over this room completely, partly because I can’t bear to have empty rooms with no use but also because I like being up high. The bird in me likes working on the second floor and looking out over the lawns and street. There is shade in the tree’s canopy just beyond the room’s balcony. At night there’s a streetlight across the way.

It’s private in here, in the middle of the house. If I sit on the couch, even those walking by won’t see me. People don’t look up a lot when they walk, not even the casual passersby. The ones who pump their arms, and check their heart rate don’t notice much at all. They just go fast.

Yeah, I’m gonna clean up this room. Make room on the couch. Clean off the table. Except for the books, of course (not pictured). And then it will begin, the scritch scratch of pen on paper. No, I’m not procrastinating. Look at me, outfitted with the dust rag, cucumber spray cleaner and vacuum. No, not procrastinating at all.
