Circus Flora…

June 25, 2008 § 3 Comments

The program said no flash photos. So I turned off my flash and snapped a few pictures. (ratz – blur city).

As the show began, the announcer said no cameras.

And Circus Flora, (sans Flora the Elephant who was retired to a sanctuary in Tennessee several years ago) was better than ever.

Hats off to Nino (in red hat), the kinda clown that defines the Euro-style circus.

Note: Nory and I had both just read WATER FOR ELEPHANTS.

I read Water for Elephants earlier this year. I liked it. It was a quick, easy read, and I got drawn into the world of the circus. One day, I’ll eventually go to the circus. Maybe when my daughter is old enough to go.

Nova, If you can find a “euro” circus, it’s great (far less crazy than the 3-ring circus). Circus Flora has only one ring, and is not into the exotic animals but oh, its miniature ponies! and the silly goats! And the draft horses! And no scary clowns! Just a wonderfully themed story (each season), and awesome people dedicated to the art of beauty and performance (and sawdust and silliness!)

Nory, Yay! Glad you liked it, again! And this time (unlike 10 years ago), you were not drawn into the ring. Although, wouldn’t you follow Nino? What IS it about that clown?
