The Gift of a Journal
October 15, 2008 § 4 Comments
Nope, I didn’t go to Tuscany, but I can smell it on the journal that my friend brought back for me.
I’m not sure how long I’ll carry it around before I write something in it …
… but it may allude to the hands that made it, that stamped the leather and wrapped the leather thread around the outside, to the wind through olive trees, the whisper of wine from the hundreds of homes that make their own and something of HM’s ancestry. Grazie.
Oh, yes, that’s a beatiful item right there. I don’t know if I’d ever be able to write in it! I, too, can smell Tuscany…I want to go back!
What a glorious, beautiful gift. Indeed, you have a good friend who knows you all too well. Will you write in it? I’d be afraid — and excited!
Lisa and Jeanie – Now it’s on my dresser. Taunting me. Hmmmm…
What is it about the promise of the blank page that we never want to spoil? But just think… all of the wonderful character that gorgeous journal already has will be exponentially increased once you being to record your words in it. 🙂
