gone to Scarborough Fair …

November 20, 2008 § 5 Comments

An hour at Scarborough Fair? Not really. It was more of a Pirate-themed flea market not far from the beach. Actually, it wasn’t a pirate market; it’s just that people dressed up as pirates were there. I don’t know why.

And they were selling “pirate food.”

But feeling less word-ish and more picture-ish at the moment, thought I’d show you the market, such as it was, where yes! we did score some jewelry and a quartz crystal. We would have bought some of the magnificent plants, too, but realized that airport security might cast a disparaging eye on such booty.

dsc_0535There were plenty of baubles …

dsc_0526… along with native flora and fauna…

dsc_0515…your basic blue mermaids …

dsc_0517… funny moons and suns …

dsc_0519… majorly big “baubles” …

dsc_05211… and time waiting for someone to buy it…

dsc_0541… more food …

dsc_0530… and just plain old silly fun stuff.

Best thing? Finding the fair accidentally, just one of those unplanned stops that everyone enjoyed.

Oh, pirates! What fun! Up here, we’ve all turned into puffy Michelin men, dressed in long, warm down coats. No pirates, maybe no sunshine even, for us until spring…

I’d like to buy some time. Think it would come cheap?

Fabulous photos and a grand diversion! I wish we had weather like what you have… my heavy coat is out to stay.

    thanks, lisa.
Anno – I can’t believe it’s cold weather time already. We’ve been back home in the midwest for a couple weeks now. Florida seems ages ago.
Kim – If I can find a way to buy some time, I’ll split it with you!
Jeanie- Guess what? It’s turned grey and darn cold here in St Louis. Our Fl vacay seems ages ago! But that’s ok – let’s get out more decorations!!!!
